Balliamo Dance Collective presents Courage: a performance featuring an eclectic grouping of short dance pieces and live music. With modern dance works by choreographers Annamaura Silverblatt, Nancy Reed, and Cynthia Adams, and the artistry of belly dance from guest artists Crystos and Phoenix, Balliamo, as always, offers a wonderful variety of movement expression to view and experience.

What are you doing! is a dance theater piece created in reaction to the overwhelming news, corruption and lies we are bombarded with in our country today. Bringing lightness as a coping mechanism to disturbing and turbulent times. When your country’s leaders betray you?

Ebb and Flow is inspired by the timeless beauty in nature that surrounds us, and a respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part. Set to a stirring and tender score by Edvard Grieg, the movement at times evokes water lapping at the shore, wind blowing through trees, the formation of the Grand Canyon, and a snail on its journey.

In Search of Yugen. Performed to an original sound score, Ms. Adams revels in the exquisite moments of profound and mysterious beauty too deep for words while bombarded by harsh realities of bureaucracy and frustrating interactions with customer service phone calls and waiting on hold.
